Well, It has been a very long while since I’ve updated. At least by my standards. Some of you are probably wondering what happened to me.
Did I get eaten by a bear or worse, a cowboy hippie?
No, I’ve just been busy learning about my new environment!
(Also, I’ve had some problems with the admin side of my blog for the last few weeks, but it is being sorted out.)
Anyway, I don’t really have a lot to say at the moment. I do actually start work tomorrow, so that’ll be a fun new adventure.
In the meantime, I have some more pictures for you guys from my happy outing to Lake Helena.
The lake is ten minutes from my house. I’ve been out there twice now, actually. The first time I went out there was last week, and I figured the families were all trying to get their fishing in before school because it was a Wednesday afternoon and the place was packed with people, all fishing. There was an unusually high child-to-adult ratio going on, too, so I decided I’d make a trip back sometime soon. That time was today.
The lake is just a pretty, calm place to chill for a while. Like everywhere else in the valley, you can see mountains in any direction you look. They just purple up the skyline. It’s like seeing a city skyline, but… you know.. more pyramid-esque.
In fact, the lake is so nice, one lady brought her dog out and let him play “swim-and-fetch,” which he thought was the sing greatest thing in the universe.
Of course, because I’m me, I had to immediately start making up stories about these pillars sticking up out of the water:
But, I have since been informed that, no, they are not the support structure for a floating military base, but probably part of the old bridge.
So, instead, I will hone my attentions on the Sea Gulls that have taken over the sandbar and why some of them get to sit on rocks while the rest toil in the mud. I’ve decided they must be Sea Gull Lords, profiting from the tyranny of their broken Sea Gull Feudal system.
These really are the things that go through my head, you know.
Notice the city far in the background?
It was about this time that I was starting to get tired of being in the sun. I have a very limited solar exposure setting. It maxes out at about 20 minutes. I can go longer if I’m wearing a tunic and carrying a sword, but only if I have to.
Since I had to walk back to my car from the far side of the bridge anyway, I decided to take some plant pictures along the way.
Okay, cards on the table, I was trying to take a picture of the extremely camera shy moths, but they weren’t co-operating.
