#30DaysofThanks – Energy Drinks

30 Days of Thanks is a wonderful way of extending one day of Gratitude into a full month. In my opinion, we can all use a bit more gratitude. Thanks to the wonderful Amanda of Me, My Dogs, My Life, for creating it. Feel free to join us on Twitter, using the hash tag #30DaysofThanks. We can all use reminders of what is awesome in life.

Given 30 days to truly think about what I am thankful for, I figured it would be best to rev up one day at a time. I figured I’d start out on the small miracles end and work up to the Deep-in-my-Soul thanks towards the end of the month. Consider it a moment of stop and smell the roses, a quiet introspection while I clack away on my NaNoWriMo project for the year. I should probably start off with the fact that I am thankful for 30 Days of Thanks, because it lets me spend 30 days not worrying about what I should write for the blog.

Thanks, Amanda.

Liqui-Crack will Steal Your Pants

I don’t sleep very well. You can chalk it up to sleep apnea or insomnia, or a brain powered by raw awesome that can’t be turned off. No matter what reason you might find, though, I am perpetually in a state of near sleepiness… unless for some reason I’m in a state of manic hilarity. Apparently, this happens when I drink Pinot. The rest of the time, however, I have to fight off something that feels very akin to narcolepsy. Maybe the problem is that I am created to be a night owl and I am forced to be awake with the accursed day ball. My body just doesn’t dig that.

It’s a crime to stay awake when the sun is out to kill you.

Still, I have to do it for things like work and banking, and so I need something to help me keep going, even if it is 90% psychosomatic, the placebo effect is very powerful for me, and that’s a good thing, because I can polish off a small energy drink and think that I have enough energy to power a small city for a few days. Nothing compared to the home made energy drink Liqui-Crack with somewhere around 5000 milligrams of caffeine per serving, but still, it’s enough to keep me going.

So, here’s to you, Energy Drinks, for keeping my brain functional when it really just wants to shut down and nap, even if you don’t give me anything of actual value, even calories.
